Milica Vojvodić: Educational Mindfulness Intro in Canterbury, UK. Aug. 2018

I was lucky enough to have had Monica Mulholland as a fellow trainee at a teacher training course at Pilgrims in Canterbury last summer. In class, she was always humble and unobtrusive. However, I discovered soon enough what an abundance of knowledge and experience she has. I had only heard about mindfulness before her workshop. Through her workshop, I found out what mindfulness means and how it can be applied. It was both very interesting and useful, especially when it was presented by a person with such an aura of calmness and kindness. I’m honoured to have met a great professional who is always ready to give support to her colleagues and who is a wonderful person as well. It was clear from our two weeks together that genuinely giving love and support is Monica’s approach to teaching and learning. Thank you for teaching me about mindfulness and for your support! Your students are very lucky to have you! Milica Vojvodić, an ESL teacher from Belgrade, Serbia.

Last August, I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Monica Mulholland in a summer course at Pilgrims, Canterbury.
Needless to say that she is a knowledgeable, talented professional but, on top of that, she is also an incredibly charming, thoughtful and endearing person.
It was priceless to be able to share some lessons and discuss together many topics that we both are passionate about such as teaching and learning foreign languages, metalinguistic awareness, the use of authentic materials in the classroom, cross-linguistic and cross-cultural perspectives in pedagogy, etc.
As part of the summer course, she conducted a workshop on Educational Mindfulness, which all attendees loved to bits. I truly enjoyed every single activity carried out in the session. She was not only engaging and motivating but also high-powered and kept us all mesmerized until the very end of her expert training.
She is a true inspiration for teachers, trainers and students. Thank you, Monica, for teaching us how important mindfulness is for both our personal growth and professional development. Bravo!
My classmates and I were indeed thankful for this workshop, and I look forward to seeing her again soon in the U.K. or elsewhere.

It has been a pleasure to participate in the Creativity Workshop led by Dr. Monica Mulholland. It took place in Bayamo, Cuba. It was a valuable training full of work and activities that kept us motivated all the time. Her teaching style was inspirational. I loved all the activities, and I´m already putting them into practice in class. I really appreciate the learning experiences shared. The time was short, but her knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy remain in all the participants who met her. We are grateful for this workshop and we look forward to seeing her soon to share more ideas to develop in class. Thank you for this great opportunity!

Last summer, I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop led by Dr. Monica Mulholland. It was on Teaching Languages Through Creativity, Drama Techniques, the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, and Brain-Based Education. It took place in Bayamo, Cuba, during the Catholic Church Summer School for Teachers. It was the best and most valuable training I’ve ever had the chance to participate in. Dr. Mulholland’s teaching style is full of energy, and she always wants the participants to learn and have fun; a perfect combination! The week-long workshops provided us with tools to engage diverse students through creativity in the classroom. We are very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and we look forward to sharing another session with Dr. Mulholland next year.

A few weeks ago Dr. Mulholland visited our school to lead a professional development for parents and teachers of Colegio Interamericano de Guatemala. It was by far one of the best and most useful trainings our school has ever organized. Monica’s presentation style provided our community with the perfect blend of research and hands on activities. The result was a learning experience that was not only useful, but truly inspirational. Thank you again to Monica for reminding all of us as teachers and parents of the importance of mindfulness in schools and in life. Well done!

Interamericano is a Pre-Kinder to 12th grade bilingual school in Guatemala. Dr. Mulholland came for two days to present workshops on The Art of Teaching and Learning for our teachers and on Creatividad y Uso Óptimo del Cerebro for our parents’ group. Her knowledge of the subject matter and her presentation skills are excellent. Furthermore, since she is fully bilingual, she was able to present in Spanish or English depending on the audience. Everyone appreciated getting the information in their own language and the reviews of her visit were outstanding.

Prof. Mulholland is seriously awesome. I was nervous for an online Spanish class but she kept it organized and was always there to support you. She genuinely just wants you to learn and will work with you to make it happen. I hope I am able to take her for another class. The best language professor you could ask for.

Prof. Mulholland clearly communicated language concepts in a way that I was finally able to understand them. Her encouragement to speak even if it wasn’t all “correct” helped to me to make new connections, speak more confidently, and improve through practice. The enthusiasm she brought to the classroom instilled a new passion for Spanish in me and my other classmates.
